Sore Backs & Legs

Another Great effort here in Niagara in making the first Ontario trial of the year, a great one.

Theatre Pond
On the saws & cleaning out brush, to open up possibilities for the judges to consider.

Thanks to:
Jessica Robinson
Richard Robinson (at least 3 days cutting brush)
Gerald White

Back breaking work, picking up all of last years garbage & Broken Glass
thrown into the ditches by Drive-in patrons as they leave.
Al Custers
Jack Haig (representing the pointer guys)

Allanburg Pond
Another banner year for illegal dumpers at the big pond.
We did our best to get it all but by the time the trial arrives, some of our efforts may be undone.
Lots of Brush cutting & Chainsaw work by Marc, Norm, Frank & others.
Older cleared spots trimmed up, and a couple new looks offered by newly cut areas.
I didn’t take pictures this year & I regret it. But maybe this week I’ll follow up with a few to show the fruits of everyone’s labor.
Thanks go out to:
Andrew Kwan
Rich Newman
Bosko Cenic
Bruce Kelly
Skip Snow
Ron Harink
Norm Rouse
Frank Tassone
Heather Stewart
Marc Comtois
Gerry Pozzebon
A good Samaritan named Debbie, who saw what we were doing and wanted to pitch in.
& myself.

My wife Liz, & my boy Jack came by to fire up the BBQ & feed everyone.
Thanks Liz & Jack, for giving your time to us.
Refreshments supplied by NPRTC, Norm Rouse, Bosko Cenic & Frank Tassone.

Liz is in the planning stages for Niagara’s Tailgate, and if it is anything like last year it will be awesome.

Nobody here expects public acknowledgement for their efforts, but they certainly deserve it.
Many of the people listed here will use these grounds occasionally, for a month or 2 after the trail, and then it will either be too grown in or too shallow.
We had sunny comfortable weather for the day. By 3 pm the water temp was 60 deg,F 2 ft down in the big pond. My dogs got wet!
Yesterday with the cloudy weather, the water temp dropped about 8deg. & the theatre pond was only 55deg.
We’re good to go!

Entries close soon.

Scott, you and your group are to be commended for all your hard work. I am sure that the handlers that will be running your trial in a few short weeks will appreciate the fact that your group has made every effort to make sure that the grounds are safe. It also sounds like you have worked hard to provide your judges with some different options. It is just too bad that John Q Public doesn't get it. That if everyone respected the property the way the dog people do then your job would be that much easier.
The crew will be here next Sunday for the annual farm maintenance day. It always amazes me how much they accomplish in a day. We are lucky that there is only the winter refuse and the growth from the previous year to content with (pine trees). They are a wicked bunch with chain saws.

Keep up the great work and all the best for your up coming trial.
