I have noticed on a lot of premium lists for CKC it says number of dogs will be limited to the number that can be run in available daylight hours. In most every trial I have been at the running stops around 5 PM.Sometimes it doesn't matter because they have accepted every dog but once and awhile people are left out.I understand the judges don't want to run sunup to sundown so why not make the cutoff 5PM

It is a tough judging assignment, but any time I volunteered to judge I was always prepared to run "available daylight hours". Only once were there enough dogs entered. Daryl Curtiss and I judged 17 braces on a Sunday in Edmonton. We ate lunch and supper in the saddle and just got done as it was getting dark.

If the premium list says available daylight hours that is what you should be prepared for but I was at a trial in the spring that had ADH in the premium and they stopped well before sundown. And I know for a fact a handfull of people applied but were left out(Including Myself)
