I have a 5 month old CLM who I am currently training using the bill hillmann puppy training program. over the last week, he has been losing teeth left and right. I don't want him to associate pain with retreiving so should i focus on other aspects during this time or continue with retreiving and fun bumpers throughout the teething phase?
Thanks for your time

John I can not speak for everybody else but when my four moth old Lab. pup was teething she did not like large bumpers but would retrieve canvas small bumpers, pigeons and ducks. At that age I used the kiss method till she started getting her large teeth, let him be a puppy, just my two cts. worth. Marv. Calhoun

I agree with Justchessies (who now has a lab and will have to change his name ) Let him be a puppy and retrieve soft toys until his teeth come in, then you can start force fetch.:whip: BTW the Hillman program is great!
Publish some pics! I am interested in how he's turning out.

Paint rollers and pigeons are usually ideal to retrieve during teething. It's not usually a long ordeal before gums heal, and other items can be re introduced.
