Thank you to all the handlers and dogs that came out and supported our one day hunt this year. Entries were better than we expected as this was a departure from our regular date and we did things a little differently. We should be back to normal next year.
Wshing all those entered in the great success. Show them how we do it here in the Great White North.

I would like to thank all club members, judges and other HRC. members who helped make our club run smoothly at our hunt this year. It has been a few years since I ran a pup in started all though there was no ribbon for the pup and me we had a good time  have you ever heard of Murphy's law not sure of the spelling what ever could go wrong did go wrong. Pups first HT. we had a no bird on the first mark, bird hit some branches and fell short along the tree line and field the judges called it a no bird now the tricky part was trying to put her slip lead on her neck, she would have no part of that and broke now i,m trying to get her back:sorry : thank god the Judges were patient with me and the pup, when she came back I was asked to run her a few dogs later which I did. She got her first bird and when I turned her for the second one the bird came out BUT she had her neck and head looking back at where the no bird had landed now I know she can remember a double  that's when I put her lead on and thanked the Judges and walked off line. We finished the day doing the water marks. Did I learn anything that day yes she has a memory and loves to play the game and when I think about it it put's a smile on my face, Right now Willow has a cookie that she bit in two pieces and is laying there trying to make up her mind which piece she wants to eat first. I met some old friends I had not seen in a long time and met some new one's,Life is good Marv. Calhoun

Yes Marv...Life really is good, especially when you get to play with great dogs and hang out with equally great people. Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself and that is a bonus. Wish I was able to make it down, GBHRC knows how to set out a nice spread for sure. Nice to see you back in the game and sporting a big smile at the same time.
