Hey gang,

I thought I would share some pictures of tonights training session. I went out to the same field that I trainied in on Saturday so I could pick up where we left off but he finished cutting the hay and then spead manure so that was out of the question.

So we went over to another field and do something different. Here is a picture of the set up from the mat.

The first mark was at 140 yards that was thrown angle back, to get to it she had to cross a large feeder gully and you lost sight of the dog for a few moments. If you look closely you can see the white " stickman I have placed in front of the Zinger Winger. The second mark I used as a "go Bird", the winger was located behind the hay bale and that was 60 yards away. The bumper was thrown angle twards the line and ended up 40 yards away but right in your face.

Here's a pic of her returning from the 140 yard mark....

And of course there is no better way to end a training sesion than happy bumper's in a calm Lake Erie....

Drew,

Nice pics. Are you trying to get her to focus in on the long memory bird? Is that why you hid the short bird? Have you had success mixing the two?

Hey Anne,

Actually yes I did want her to focus on the long bird but the one reason I hid the winger behind the hay bale was to try and see if she would break due to the go bird being tossed right in her face. I wanted to see if she would break for it so I could correct her if need be.

When I was working the SWO trial earlier this year on the 3rd series I think the first 4 or 5 dogs broke on the go bird that was thrown 30-40 yards directly in front.

I actually switched it up during tonights training, I moved the right mark out so it was a double with the long bird being 140 and the short was 70-80 yards.
