Solar Powered GPS

I just bought a solar charger for my GPS off of EBay. I couldn't find an adapter to plug it into the canoe, So I figured I'd try one of the solar units. I figure it will be slow charging, but If I use the GPS sparingly, I can always get a fix on my postion if needed.
(Of course I will have a compass and map, but I got the GPS unit to use it!)
Anybody else try one of these solar chargers?

My buddy uses a small solar panel for his trailer when we go moose hunting. It produces enough to keep a deep cycle battery charged to run the lights and the portable DVD player.

Just a simple one that he picked up at Canadian Tire.
