I'm looking for a Tritronics anti-bark collar - the one that starts out at a low level and increases if the dog continues to bark. Thanks

I checked out Ebay for you Case, and a few other used items on the web, but all I found was this antique collar:

Tritronics doesn't make a bark collar that automatically increases the correction if the dog continues to bark. You need to manually adjust the level yourself. This really isn't a big deal since once you establish the proper level where the dog shuts up that's where you keep it. No need to reestablish the setting everytime. Their "Bark Limiter" has 5 levels, waterproof and has a bark count feature which can come in handy. My experience is it's the one of the better units on the market (Sportdog, Dogtra, etc.) although one of the more expensive.

Rob is correct, I think the Dogtra is the one that steps up.

Cabelas sells one that does that, had one, wasn't impressed and bought a tritronics, alot better unit.

I have the TT one, and aside from finding you have to hold the button down too long for it to turn off, think it's great... (God help me if I let go too soon, and it just bumps it up a level... then I have to go through all the levels, then off)

Rob has lots of experience in this area so his advice is good.
Spend the little extra and go with the bark limiter, the counter is nice while you are setting up the intensity level, you can see how many times the collar activated and then go up another level if you need to. I have 3 of them, they work great.

If you are taking it off and it is just going to be sitting around the house it has a sleep mode Frank which will not drain the battery. Once you move the collar it will turn itself back on. I never turn mine off at home just take them off the dog and hang them up, if you have them in the truck though the movement of the truck while driving will keep it turned on.

I know it's supposed to, but I swear to god I take the collar, leave it turned on, and after a couple weeks the collar is dead on its own... With the $$ of those CR-2 I try and manage them...

Besides, I use it so rarely that I may as well keep it off.

I have 3 and have only changed to battery in 2 of the units. One of whick I have had for years.

Moved the thread here since there is so much info about bark collars that others may not find where it was.

Thank you gentlemen for the good info. I'll be getting a Tritronics collar.
The transmission in my old ('95) van died to-day - I saw a lot of flying birds ( fingers) - rush hour traffic, busiest street in London. I may have to put off the collar purchase this week.

At the jail where I work, someone tried to kill one of my students.

All in all, it has been a fine day. LOL
