I am going up on Friday to run my first Open this year. ( all of the American trials have been limited or specials). Is anybody else going up? What up with the expensive motels in Callender and North Bay most were over $100 Canadian.

I'm a setter person. Do you need to qualify before you can run in the open stake?

Case,
In the states if your clubs open the previous year is greater than a certain # I think 65 you can run a Limited which is limited to Qualified all age dogs. If the Limited the previous year still has high # of entries you run a special which are dogs that have been QAA within the past year. If you still have high entry #'s you would then run a restricted which is for dogs that have placed in an All age stake. Most of the limiteds this year had over 70 dogs in them and I am only QAA in Canada.

Dennis,
I tried to reach my son at his summer camp but have not heard back from him yet. He is not scheduled to be back home until Saturday. I will let you know before I leave on Friday.

Congrats to everyone -- sounds like it was a good FT -- certainly sounds like Junior was a good stake -- wish I was running -- oh well, going to have to wait until Bancroft and Mountain Valley -- maybe Ottawa -- sure a lot of nice Junior dogs out there -- Margo's litter looking good -- and BabyDuck sounds like he's got a goer in his female
