I'm wondering what the experience duck hunters on this board think.

I am wanting to get back into waterfowlling really bad. Especially now that I have pup :)

Anyways, I have a 16' Fishing Boat that I could easily build a Fold up blind for. So that it would be well hidden. It's does not have high sides either.

My question is. What "Public" bodies of water would be safe to hunt with a boat this size.

I'm thinking lakes like Simcoe & Scugog etc..

Is 16' to big to use as boat blind? I was told by another waterfowler that I would be wasting my time hunting from this boat because it's to big.

Some guys put blinds on 20+ footers, and are successful... It doesn't matter how big only how well hidden.

Regarding where can you hunt, wherever you feel safe fishing is where you would be safe hunting

16 ft is ideal.
I just bought one and will need to figure out something for a blind too.

I had 16ft st-lawrence duck boat and it was idea for the big water and the marshes. You should have no problem.

NICE!

Anyways here are the plans I'm going to follow for my boat. I have to make some mods so I can cover the bow and motor but should do the trick :)
