We also had a great time in Westport! A disappointing day on Saturday for our first Master attempt - she did the land triple with a biggish hunt on one bird (most dogs had a hunt on this bird) and was dropped. We were there mostly for experience, so I was disappointed to lose the opportunity to run the rest of the test, but all was not lost! They needed a test dog for the afternoon. She did a nice job, but probably would have been dropped on the water blind. A tough one, with lots of places to lose sight of your dog - especially if she's a little Toller! Coming back with the last bird in the water, she was confronted with a number of Holstein heifers joining her in the water for a drink. She was pretty okay with that, but got a bit flustered when a crazy woman appeared on an ATV yelling and screaming at the cows "HEY, HEY, HEY, GET OUT OF THERE". (Our program director, Anne Steer, doing her job <GRIN>!)
Today was great! Gorgeous weather, great company and a nice test. Taylor did the land test this morning with one quick handle on the last bird, nailed the water marks and did a nice job on the blind. The judges' way of letting you know you had passed was to say "You may now kiss your dog"! They told you this as your dog was coming back from the water blind. I asked if they minded if I cried a bit while I was standing there.....
Still hoping she holds off coming in season until after Georgian Bay next weekend.....

Thanks for the great pictures Mike. I know that Lenore will be really pleased to show off the ones of Drake.
Also never leave before the call backs you short shifted yourself.
Congratulations to JoeJoe's daughter Jenni for putting the first JH pass on Tucker. Ron better look out she is a great little handler. Sunday's test was tougher than Saturday's. She did a terrific job handling.

Also never leave before the call backs you short shifted yourself.
Whether we were called back or not is not the point, she was out of control and did not deserve another bird, let alone a pass.
I had a lot of fun regardless, great tests, great judges, and great people.

Is your group training this weekend in the scugog area?
I'm looking for a CKC Hunt Test to enter this weekend since we didn't get sundays but I can't find one.

From Trainer / Handler...to...Assistant Trainer...to...Bird Boy / Bus Driver.
My Daughter Jenni (releiving Dad of his handling duties) with her pup Tucker giving her a congratulatory Kiss, bordered on either side by the A class judges for the event.
They earned their first JH pass this weekend. Thanks to all, organizers, judges and participants alike that helped to make it a weekend she (and I) will always remember. (special thanks to Anna Scott and her sister Eden for their guidence and continuing, I hope, patients)
