It was a great day in Junior -- first FT for Maxx and I -- we made to 4th series -- got all the birds but no ribbon -- but I made two major mistakes (rushing him in lining up on second bird twice and sending him too quickly both times) -- need to relax and slow down with him -- my fault not the dog's for not getting better result -- but first time running anything other than puppy in nearly 15 years -- and he's a lot of dog -- makes your heart race all the way to line -- glad I didn't sell him now -- we had fun -- good to talk to Baby duck (and his cheesy loving son who drove one of 3 Blackdogs labs crazy) and many others -- great weather, great day, and great people -- and can't wait for next week in Bancroft -- as an aside my Dad (a non FTer, but loves Maxx and has owned a few Labs) went with me and had a great time too (especially meeting Frank and Dana DeGrow)
