I went up to hullet this morning and set out to try to get a few birds. Well after the down pour and pushing the canoe through 1/4 mile of mud I made it out to stake 18 now there were guys at 15 to the left and 16 to the right so I had a great view of them hammerring the early flight of birds. so since not to much was showing any interest in what I had to offer. I thought I would take a few pictures of the dog and just as i picked up the camera a nice full plumage drake mallard went merrily though the spread and I swear he winked at me as he went by me while I was standing there with the camera in hand so here is a pic of HRCH Blue North Arctic Tundra WCX QAA watching the bird go by this is the best shot I took all day. I will say it was great to be out and see the birds moving around I can't wait for the colder weather.

It has been a couple of years since I have been down @ the Hullet. I would go to stake 7,8, or 9. With none to low water in this section of the marsh in the last 7 years, it has turned me off the Hullet. I had some memorable hunts there before the drain off. It sure would be nice to hunt those stakes again.:sad1:

"There are alot of hunting stakes that are high and dry. Stakes that have been doing good are 15 and 16 in the Bluebill and the stakes in the Whistler pool (34 to 44) have water, average is between 1 foot and less. We have seen ducks in both sanctuarys. They include mallards, teal (green and blue), woodies, ring necks, blacks, wigeon, gadwall, pintail and some canvasback. Most of these are sitting in the N. sanctuary and when ever I'm up there baiting I get them up, but they just circle around and land back in the sanctuary. " FOH
