    Default Product Review..... Zinger Crates

    Hey all,

I am not sure if you remember or not but a few months ago I won a draw that Rob from Zinger Winger (www.zingerwinger.com) held and won one of his new Zinger Crates. Well I finally got up to get them the other day and thought I would put together a little review for those of you that may be thinking about them.

    My Thoughts....

First off I gotta say that I love the modular design of the Zinger Crates. You can buy 1 , 2 or 3 boxes and hook them all together to form more complex systems. If you just have 1 dog you can buy the single box and when you add another down the road you just order another one and it will hook right into your existing box.

It has a ton of ventilation so there are no worries about keeping your dogs cool during the summer months and Rob mentioned yesterday that he is thinking of offering Kennel jackets for the winter months.

They are very light ( I believe the 2 dog system wieghs 69lbs) and one person can easily move them around without straining any muscles.

The Silver powder coat finish looks awesome and because the inside is powdercoated as well there will be no issues of our dogs turning grey or black from Aluminum oxidization.

Overall I think these are a great box and dollar for dollar you cannot beat them. I think Rob has done his homework and really come up with a winner with these boxes to compliment his already great winger's.

    Some pictures for you.....

The way they come to you......

Awesome... Does the door mount on either side, and you can just switch em? I looked at em at the sportsman show, and they looked great.

    Lucky bastard.

Yes you can mount the doors on either side, I just prefer them to open that way for some reason.

I would have em setup the same way... I was just curious if there were left/right models, or universal...

What was the assembly time, in minutes/hours, not in bottles...

I called Rob ahead of time and he assembled them for me for a small fee, so all I had to do was show up and slide'r in.....

you can change the doors wich ever way you want, I open mine trhough the side windows so I have them opening the oposite way Drew has, he is a very tall mofo so he can reach in from the tailgate...lol.......

You should oil the slam latchs monthly, for constant smooth operation. Other than that they are maintenance free...

Those look awsome. I have a Buick Rendevous, so in order to put two crates in, I have to take both back seats out. One crate goes there with the latch to get in pointing towards the back seat doors and the other goes into the back with the latch of course facing out when I open the hatch. I would love to have them side by each so I can access them both from the back. How wide exactly are the two of them attached? and how deep are they. I always think the boxes look too small for a big lab. My male is 80 pounds and pretty tall, and the female is quite a bit smaller.

    thanx.

48"wide X 28" high. These boxes are huge compared to others on the market, my big dog is a monster and has no issues with the set up.

One thing that you cant see is that I cut to fit a rubber matt used for horse stalls and put the grooves facing up to keep the dogs dry, I'm thinking of drilling some holes for drainage, but I started staking my dogs out after water work to dry off a little and that seems to keep the water out...

    Later....Marc.....

Mark, Just remember that if you drill drainage holes into the crates your warranty is voided :cheesy: :cheesy: Just kidding! however keep in mind the water must go somewhere so it will seep onto your truck bed? Also the weep holes will quickly become clogged with dog hair and mud. What I have found is that water will pool at the bottom of the crate and quickly dry anyway but it's important to keep the dog up off the bottom so they are not sitting in the water.
